Social responsibility and sustainability

NCP feels a great responsibility in promoting sustainable production and circular economy through the usage of the local resources and reusing waste.

For NCP, it all started through a research-based study in May 2017. NCP used Sintef Raufoss Manufacturing as a partner to investigate how different types of plastic waste, from the farming industry, can be recycled and used in normal production. NCP has since then invested in new production equipment for injection moulding, where the recycling of plastics and the circular economy were given great focus. With good partners, we continue to research and create products that help reduce the carbon footprint of our production.

From waste to a valuable resource

Only 9% of the world's total plastic waste is recycled. We are therefore committed to using this material and its endless possibilities to develop new sustainable products.

An important ambition of this project was to change the public's attitude towards used plastic, from considering it as waste to seeing it as a valuable resource to be utilized in new ways when it has served its original purpose.

Rethink, re-use and recycle

NCP has more than 70 years of market experience. But still, we have an obligation to change our production to become greener and more sustainable by focusing on the life cycle of materials and products. Waste can generate numerous possibilities to develop new sustainable products. We see it as our duty and purpose to do so when designing furniture and other products, now and in the years to come.
